Far Far West Bosses and Cryptics: Full Enemy Index

Enemy Families

Three layers of opposition: regular enemies (Grunts, Slingers, Kamikazes, Vultures and friends), bounty bosses that anchor missions, and the Cryptic family — corrupted elite variants that the wiki catalogues as their own enemy class.

The Cryptic Roster

The wiki tracks a Cryptic variant for most enemy types — a sign of how central the family is:

Barricade, Bomber, Bosses, Bull, Deadeye, Deathrattle, Grunt, Horseman, Kamikaze, Lich, Minigunner, Necromancer, Nuker, Overseer, Prowler, Raven, Saloon, Scanner, Slinger, Train, Vulture.

The named standouts — Lich, Necromancer, Horseman, Overseer, Raven — behave as mini-encounters rather than stat-buffed mobs. Treat any Cryptic sighting as a priority target: they punish ignoring them longer than regular elites do.

Bounty Bosses

Bounty missions end at a boss whose kill also drops equipment fragments — the main unlock currency for new weapons (6 fragments per weapon). If you’re chasing a specific gun, boss-capped missions beat pure horde maps.

Practical Notes

  • Weakspots matter: weakspot damage is a tracked stat with its own Joker support (Weakspot, Weakspot Refund). Precision weapons like the Long Ranger exploit boss weakspots hardest.
  • Voodoo corruption works on elites: turning part of a wave mid-boss-fight is the school’s co-op party trick (spells guide).
  • Frostburn additions: Hellfire’s roster and the Jungle Dungeon encounters are still being catalogued by the community; we list only confirmed entries and mark the rest as unverified.
